All you hafta do is start it, select file-new, select the fractal type, size, and color mode (all of this can be changed after starting)
then when the blank window pops up, hit F3 to generate/search for a random fractal. you can change how random each search is, rotate, zoom, pan, change color schemes and render schemes and more from the menus.
